My Pet Peve (no pun intended)

Alright, so i know a lot of people like to watch dog shows and/or participate in them. Personally i have a problem when it comes to cropping dogs ears. I know it gives you more points or credit in shows, but why do dog shows even think of that as an enhancement??
I say they should ban dog ear cropping in all shows.
If a dogs ears don't stand up naturally then why force them to by cutting them and re-stitching them???

Especially if it doesn't work the first time then people go back and get it done again!
I believe that this procedure is completely unnecessary. There is NO PROVEN scientific fact that says having a dogs ears cropped helps with better ventilation to their ear canal, or any other benefit of having this surgery done.

I'm not trying to be rude to people who have had it done to there dogs but i honestly think it is completely unnecessary and cruel. It does hurt the dogs, sure any surgery hurts dogs but this one is so unnecessary it's like hurting them for pride of show.

If you could please give me a good reason as to why you agree or disagree with me.

    I agree, it IS cruel. It's another one of those things like cutting off a dog's tail to prevent it from getting to long. Why do it? I don't really know.

    Think about liposuction, rhinoplasty, boob jobs, or any other surgery to benefit someone's appearance, it's the same thing.

    Exactly, but i do have to say in some breeds of dogs it is actually better to have their tails docked because they do get wayyyyy to long for a little dog and end up breaking alot!

    MY KIKI!!!! lol and yeah i know but out of those things the only one i can see as being help full would be a breast reduction, not filler.
